Privacy & Cookies

The short, honest version

The short version

This is a personal site for a Twitch channel. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms. I do not sell, share or trade anything about you. The only thing collected is anonymous analytics, and only if you agree to it.

Analytics

If you choose Allow on the cookie notice, this site loads GoSquared, an analytics service. It sets a performance cookie and records things like which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world visitors are, which browser and screen size they use, and which site sent them here. It tells me whether anyone reads the setup page. It does not tell me who you are.

IP addresses are anonymised before storage: GoSquared is configured with its anonymizeIP option, which drops the last part of an IPv4 address and most of an IPv6 one. GoSquared processes and may store this data outside the UK and the European Economic Area.

If you choose No thanks, the analytics script is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set. That choice is remembered in your browser, and nothing else happens.

The mailing list

If you hand over an email address in The Rookery, it is stored in a private Google spreadsheet that only I can open, along with the date you signed up, which page you signed up from, and the country your request came from. Nothing else, and no address of yours beyond that.

I use it to send occasional word about streams, events I am going to, and guild news. It is not automated, not weekly, and the list is never sold, shared or handed to anyone else.

To come off the list, reply to any email or write to [email protected] and I will delete the row. Ask and I will tell you exactly what is stored against your address.

Changing your mind

Your choice lives in your own browser, not on a server. Clear it and the notice will ask again:

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, which overrides anything this site does.

Getting in touch

Questions, or want something removed? Email [email protected]. Under UK GDPR you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, or complain to the ICO — though with anonymised analytics there is realistically nothing here that identifies you.
